01Intended audience

Expat Pocket is built for adults managing life in the United Arab Emirates — moving, settling, housing, work, community, and daily tools.

• The service is not directed at children.
• We expect users to be 18 years of age or older (or the age of majority in their jurisdiction, if higher).
• We do not knowingly create accounts for, or collect personal data from, people under 18. If we learn that we have such data, we start a deletion process. See the “Children” section of our Privacy Policy.

02Why age suitability matters for this app

Expat Pocket is a social and marketplace-style product with user-generated content, messaging, location-related features, optional purchases, and an AI assistant (Poco). Those capabilities can expose users to content or interactions that are inappropriate for children, even when we moderate for community standards.

Store age ratings reflect the type of features and content that can appear, not a promise that every post is family-friendly at all times.

03Features that affect suitability

User-generated content

Users may post text, photos, listings, questions, and other content. Content can include topics typical of adult expat life (housing, jobs, nightlife, relationships, local culture). We prohibit illegal content, hate, harassment, and other abuses under our Community Guidelines, but we cannot pre-screen every item before it is published.

Messaging and community

People can message each other and join community spaces. Private and group conversations may include personal topics. Users should treat strangers with caution, as in any social product.

Location

With permission, the app may use approximate or precise location for discovery, nearby content, and related features. Location is optional at the system level and can be revoked in device settings. We do not use location to market the product to children.

Listings and transactions

Users can create or browse listings (for example housing-related or services). Deals are between users. Expat Pocket is not a party to private contracts. Scams and prohibited goods/services are banned; report tools are available.

Purchases and subscriptions

The app may offer paid features (for example Pro), tickets, or other digital products via the App Store, Google Play, or web payments. Purchases use the relevant store account and parental controls of that platform where applicable.

Poco (AI assistant)

Poco answers practical questions about UAE life using product knowledge and sources. It is not a substitute for legal, medical, or financial advice and may hand off to human or professional help for sensitive topics. Responses are designed for adult users.

04Content standards and safety tools

We moderate for safety and community standards:

• Community Guidelines set clear lines (respect, no hate, no spam, honest listings).
• Users can report content and accounts they believe violate the rules.
• We may remove content, restrict accounts, or take other proportionate action.
• Emergency situations require local emergency services — in-app support is not an emergency hotline.

05Parental and caregiver guidance

Expat Pocket is intended for adults. If you are a parent or caregiver:

• Do not create an account for a child under 18.
• Use device and App Store / Google Play Screen Time / Family controls for any shared devices.
• Review our Privacy Policy for how we process personal data, including location and messages.
• Contact us if you believe a minor has used the service so we can help close the account and remove data where appropriate.
